1. General information

Protecting your personal data is important to us. In general, you can use the “iboChron” app without providing personal data. The app is designed to minimize the collection and processing of personal data.

2. Processing of personal data within the app

2.1 Local data storage

All data you enter in the app is stored exclusively locally on your device. There is no storage on external servers and no transmission of the app’s stored content to the developer. The developer has no access to the content you store in the app.

3. Contact by email

If you contact us via the contact function in the app or directly by email, we process the data you provide (e.g., your email address and the content of your message) in order to handle your request.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract / pre-contractual measures) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in communicating with users).

Your data will be used only to process your request and will not be shared with third parties.

4. YouTube videos

The app includes a help page where videos are embedded via YouTube. Videos are loaded only when you open the help page.

When a YouTube video is loaded, personal data (e.g., your IP address and device information) may be transmitted to YouTube/Google.

Provider:
Google Ireland Limited
Gordon House, Barrow Street
Dublin 4, Ireland

More information about YouTube/Google privacy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy

The app developer has no control over this data processing.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing help content).

5. In-app purchases

The app offers paid features via in-app purchases. Purchases are processed exclusively by the platform operators (Apple App Store and Google Play Store). In doing so, personal data may be processed by the respective platform operator (e.g., payment-related data and your Apple ID / Google account).

The developer does not receive any payment details or billing information.

The privacy policies of the platform operators apply:

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

6. Use of third-party libraries (open source)

The app uses technical open-source libraries to provide functionality (e.g., compression, receipt handling, video display). Where these libraries provide functionality within the app, processing generally takes place locally on the device.

Please note: due to the YouTube integration (see section 4), data may be transmitted to Google/YouTube when you open the help page with videos.

7. No analytics or advertising tracking

The app does not use analytics services, user tracking, advertising networks, or marketing-related telemetry. No profiling is performed.

7a. System-level diagnostics and usage data

Apple (iOS) and Google (Android) operating systems may—depending on your device settings—automatically transmit diagnostics and usage data to the respective platform operator. This may include, in particular, crash reports, performance data, system diagnostics, and device information.

This transmission is carried out by the operating system/platform provider. The app developer has no access to these data and does not receive personal raw data that could be assigned to individual users.

More information:

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable and secure app provision by the platform operators).

8. Opening external links

The app may contain links to external websites (e.g., legal notice/imprint or further information). When you tap such a link, the respective page is opened in your device’s default browser (e.g., Safari or Chrome). The privacy policies of the respective website operator apply.

When accessing external pages, personal data may be processed by the browser/provider, in particular your IP address, device and browser information, and date/time of access. The app developer has no control over this data processing.

9. Legal bases for processing

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance / support requests / in-app purchases)
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in app operation, communication, and providing help content)

10. Retention period

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the respective purpose. Emails related to support requests are deleted once the request has been handled, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

To exercise your rights, simply contact us by email: info@ibochron.de

12. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Baden-Württemberg (Germany), the competent authority is:

The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI Baden-Württemberg)

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if app features change or legal requirements evolve.
